By using the Website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
1. Eligibility
You may not use or engage with the Website or Platform if you are under thirteen (13) years of age. If you use or engage with the Website or Platform and are between the ages of thirteen (13) and eighteen (18) years of age, you must have your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to do so. By using or engaging with the Platform, you acknowledge and agree that you are not under the age of thirteen (13), are between the ages of thirteen (13) and eighteen (18) and have your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to use or engage with the Website or Platform, or are of adult age in your jurisdiction. By using or engaging with the Website or Platform, you also acknowledge and agree that you are permitted by your jurisdiction’s applicable law to use and/or engage with the Website or Platform.

- Use the Website to make fraudulent or unauthorized donations, including with a payment method you do not own.
3. Our Content and Trademarks
The Website's text, graphics, logos, and other materials, and the LIB name, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, or use our name, logo, or content in a way that suggests LIB endorses you, a product, or a cause without our written permission.
4. Donations
Voluntary gifts
Donations are voluntary and are processed by GiveButter Inc. By donating, you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method and that the information you provide is accurate.
Tax deductibility
LIB is a 501(c)(3) organization. Gifts are generally tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We will send a receipt for your records. Please consult your tax advisor about your own situation.
Refunds
Gifts are generally non-refundable. If you made a donation by mistake, such as a duplicate or incorrect amount, or you believe it was unauthorized, contact us within 45 days at the email below, and we will review it promptly.
Recurring gifts
If you choose a recurring donation, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method either biweekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually, as you select in the amount you chose until you cancel. You can cancel or change your recurring gift at any time at the donor portal. Cancellations take effect for the next scheduled charge. We will notify you before any material change to your recurring gift, such as a change in amount you did not request.
Use of funds
Donations support LIB's mission and programs. If a gift is designated for a specific purpose, we will use it for that purpose. If that purpose becomes impossible, is fully funded, or no longer serves our mission, we may use the gift for a similar purpose consistent with our mission.
5. Fundraising Disclosures
Information about our finances and activities is available on our Website via Form 990 filings.
6. User Submissions
You may be able to submit stories, photos, comments, or other materials ("Submissions"). If you do:
- You keep ownership. You own your Submissions.
- You give us a license. You grant LIB a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable license to use, reproduce, edit, display, and share your Submissions on the Website, in our publications and social media, and in our fundraising and outreach materials, in connection with our mission.
- You confirm you have the right. You promise that you created the Submission or have permission to share it, that it does not infringe anyone's rights, and that anyone identifiable in it has consented to its use.
- Your name and identity. We will credit you or keep you anonymous according to your stated preference [confirm your process].
- We may moderate. We may decline, edit, or remove Submissions at our discretion, and we may restrict access for anyone who violates these Terms.
- Removal requests. You can ask us to remove your Submission at any time. We will remove it from the Website going forward, but we may not be able to retract copies already published or shared.
Please do not include sensitive personal information about yourself or others in a Submission, such as health details, unless you are comfortable with it being public.
7. Volunteers and Events
Volunteer and event participation may be subject to separate sign-up terms, waivers, or policies, which apply in addition to these Terms.
